Intricately crafted in striking detail, this shiny, large-scale representation of a stiletto was designed by contemporary Chinese artist Liao Yibai, who is renowned internationally for his hand-welded, oversize, stainless steel pop-art sculptures. The perfectly rendered stiletto is part of the artist's “Real Fakes” series. Through the combination of scale and wit, Yibai explores the global obsession with luxury brands and the surfeit of counterfeit goods in American and Chinese culture, while also honoring the artistry in both "real" and "fake" goods.
